The TAG Stock Control module is a comprehensive and flexible system which can be used as an off the shelf product or configured using optional settings to suit your specific needs.

Main Features

  • Complete Recording of Transactions

    All transactions are stored in an audit trail file giving a full history of all issues, receipts, edits and other transactions.

  • Easy Searching / Parts Identification

    Items can be identified by equipment code, stock number, part number or description. Full indexing allows any part to be located easily and quickly.

  • Bar Code Numbering

    A stock item is permanently identified by its bar code number even if the part number, description, etc. are changed.

  • Stock On Hand

    Full details of stock on hand are stored, including date of receipt, price and location.

  • Stock Sources

    Holds details of all previous and potential suppliers. The sources information is updated every time an item is received. When a stock item is requisitioned the price and supplier information is taken from the sources file.

  • Stock Allocations

    Stock items can be allocated, and then issued, to equipment, work orders, or people.

  • Attachments

    Files of any type or links to websites can be attached to a stock item to allow a quick link to relevant information.

  • Multiple Locations

    A stock item can be held in several locations.

  • Multiple Currencies

    Any number of currencies can be used. All prices are converted to the master currency at the time of receipt of goods.

  • Equivalent Items

    Groups of items can be marked as equivalent to each other, while being stocked and monitored separately, making it easy to find equivalent items at the time of issue.

  • First In, First Out or Selected Issuing

    When items are issued from stock they can be issued either on a first in / first out basis, or by selecting the actual item to be issued.

  • Country of Origin

    The country of origin can be recorded for each item.

  • Return to Stock option

    Items can be returned to stock in any order. This ensures that items are returned at the correct price.

  • Links to Purchasing system

    Items can be received through the purchasing system. When stock items are requisitioned the on-order quantity is stored in the stock files.

  • Links to Maintenance System

    Stock items can be assigned to maintenance procedures and work orders. When items are consumed the equipment code and work order number are stored in the stock audit trail. Work orders can be created and edited directly from the stock system without the need to start up the planned maintenance system. Costs and usage monitored easily.

  • UK Customs and Excise

    Monitors and controls the movements of customs controlled goods under the UK Continental Shelf regulations.

Options

The following options can be selected without extra charge.

  • Master Stock List

    Using a master stock list ensures that a common set of items is used in all sites, making it easier to monitor and control the movement of items between sites.

  • Stock transfers

    This option allows stock items to be transferred between sites by making up consignments which are then received at the other site. This option can only be used if the Master Stock List option is also selected. This is necessary to ensure that items identical stock items carry the same bar code number across all sites.

  • Average pricing

    Stock items are normally issued on a first-in, first-out basis and charged at the actual item prices. The average pricing option allows items to be issued at average prices which are updated whenever new stock is received.

  • Bar Code Reader

    A bar code reader can be used to scan bar code labels for issuing and receiving stock items. The cost depends on the type of bar code reader selected.
